The TrolMaster WD-1 Water Detector is a versatile monitoring device designed to protect grow rooms from water-related issues while enhancing irrigation reliability. It integrates directly with TrolMaster Aqua-X and Aqua-X Pro controllers, allowing growers to detect leaks, verify irrigation events, and automate water management with confidence.

Firstly, the WD-1 can function as a water leak detector. When placed on floors or in vulnerable areas, it continuously monitors for the presence of water and immediately alerts the user if a leak is detected. This helps prevent costly damage caused by plumbing failures, spills, or runoff overflow.

Alternatively, the WD-1 can operate as a water verification sensor. In this mode, the detector is positioned where irrigation runoff should occur or where water enters the growing medium. Each pump or solenoid output on the Aqua-X can be assigned to a specific WD-1. Every time the Aqua-X activates that output, the WD-1 must detect water within a user-adjustable delay time. If it does not, the system sends an alert, identifying a possible pump or solenoid failure. Up to 25 WD-1 units can be connected to a single Aqua-X controller.

In addition, when paired with two WD sensors, the WD-1 enables the Auto-Fill function on the Aqua-X Pro. One sensor is placed at the bottom of the nutrient tank and the other at the top. When the liquid level drops below the lower sensor, the system automatically activates a pump or solenoid to refill the tank until the upper sensor detects water, ensuring consistent nutrient levels with minimal manual input.

Please note that the WD-1 detects water based on electrical conductivity. As a result, it can detect municipal water, well water, and nutrient-infused solutions. However, it may not detect reverse osmosis (RO) water due to its extremely low dissolved solids content.
